Marrakech Film Festival to Fete Acclaimed Actors and Directors

The 22nd edition of the prestigious Marrakech Film Festival, taking place from November 28 to December 6, 2025, is set to honor several renowned figures in the global cinema landscape. The festival will pay tribute to acclaimed U.S. actor-director Jodie Foster, Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, Moroccan actress Raouya, and Egyptian actor-director-producer Hussein Fahmi.
Foster will introduce her new film "Vie Privée" (A Private Life) by director Rebecca Zlotowski, while Del Toro will present his personal work, "Frankenstein." In their statements, both artists expressed their excitement at being part of the Marrakech celebration. Foster said, "What an honor to discover your beautiful city of Marrakech and to celebrate film at the same time." Del Toro echoed similar sentiments, stating, "I am thrilled to be invited to return to the wonderful Marrakech International Film Festival."
The Moroccan and Egyptian artists also shared their joy at being recognized in their home countries. Raouya remarked, "What joy and emotion to be celebrated in my own country, in the ochre city, at one of its largest film events." Fahmi, who attended the festival's first edition, said, "Coming back to this joyful city to be honored is a very precious moment."
