Olympic Hero Mark Phillips Returns for Royal Nuptials

Princess Anne and her former husband, Captain Mark Phillips, attended their son Peter Phillips's wedding to Harriet Sperling in Gloucestershire on June 6. Their presence together, over thirty years after their divorce, drew significant attention, emphasizing their continued family ties. Captain Phillips, a distinguished equestrian, holds the unique distinction of being the only Olympic gold medalist to have been married into the British royal family.

Phillips achieved Olympic gold in the 1972 Munich Games for Britain's eventing team and later secured a team silver at the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
