Mariska Hargitay's Documentary Wins Big at Emmys

Mariska Hargitay has earned two significant accolades at the 78th Creative Arts Emmys for her documentary about her mother, Jayne Mansfield. The film, titled 'My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay,' secured the award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. Hargitay also received recognition for Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program, marking her feature film directorial debut.

The documentary, now available on HBO Max, delves into the life and career of the Hollywood icon Jayne Mansfield. It showcases never-before-seen photographs and home videos, offering an intimate look at Mansfield's legacy. The project premiered earlier in 2025 at both the Cannes Film Festival and the Tribeca Festival.

Hargitay expressed deep emotion and gratitude upon receiving the nominations and awards. She dedicated the win to her mother, stating her profound appreciation for this moment of recognition with her. She also acknowledged her producer, Trish Adlesic, and the entire team responsible for bringing the film to fruition.

Looking ahead, Hargitay is scheduled to host the 2026 Emmy Awards ceremony on Monday, September 14. This follows her previous Emmy win in 2006 for her role in 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.' The Creative Arts Emmys ceremony took place on September 5 and 6 in Los Angeles.
