Comedian Margaret Cho feared ICE detention, declined show role
13 May
Summary
- Comedian Margaret Cho declined a role in a Canadian TV show.
- Her refusal was due to fears of ICE detainment at the US border.
- Cho cited the Trump administration and her vocal opposition as reasons.

Comedian Margaret Cho recently shared on the 'I Never Liked You' podcast that she declined a role in the Canadian television series 'Heated Rivalry.' The decision stemmed from significant fears of being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the border.
Cho, who is openly critical of ICE and the Trump administration, was concerned that traveling to Canada for filming and returning to the U.S. could lead to detainment. This worry ultimately led her to reject the pilot script for the show, despite loving it.
She has since watched the series and expressed a desire to participate in its second season. Creator Jacob Tierney previously indicated that Season 2 would draw from Rachel Reid's 'The Long Game' novel.
