Marathi Thriller 'Dashavatar' Misses 25-Crore Milestone Despite Impressive 364% ROI

As of October 10, 2025, the Marathi film Dashavatar has concluded its fourth week at the Indian box office, but it is unlikely to make any significant additional earnings. The suspense thriller, starring Dilip Prabhavalkar in the lead role, had enjoyed a successful run earlier, but its performance has slowed down drastically in recent weeks.

In the first two weeks, Dashavatar performed exceptionally well, earning 9.2 crores and 9.25 crores, respectively. However, the film's momentum was impacted by the release of Kantara: Chapter 1 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, leading to a significant drop in its show count. As a result, Dashavatar managed to earn only 3.53 crores in the third week and 1.25 crores in the fourth week, bringing its total net earnings to 23.23 crores in 28 days.

Despite the film's impressive performance, it is now likely to fall short of the 25-crore milestone. Nonetheless, for a Marathi film made on a modest budget of 5 crores, Dashavatar's success is remarkable, as it has already generated a return on investment (ROI) of 18.23 crores, which equals a huge 364.6% returns. According to industry standards, the film has secured a "super hit" verdict.
