Manuel Rabate has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) in New Delhi. He is set to join the institution in Spring 2026, bringing extensive international museum leadership experience.
Rabate's arrival marks a significant moment for KNMA as it enters a transformative phase, preparing to open its new, expanded building. This landmark facility is poised to become the largest museum and cultural center in South Asia, covering over one million square feet.
The new KNMA complex is envisioned as a multidisciplinary institution, housing visual and performing arts. It will offer expanded capacities for exhibitions, performances, commissions, and public programming, aiming to be a vibrant cultural hub.
With over 25 years in the global museum sector, Rabate previously played a key role in establishing and leading the Louvre Abu Dhabi. He also held significant positions with Agence France-Museums and has taught arts management.
