Michael Jackman, producer of the award-winning film "Conclave," has joined the production of "Mansour," a biopic about Iranian-born tennis player and showman Mansour Bahrami. The film, directed by Romuald Boulanger, stars Amir Jadidi. Jackman expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the inspiring and relevant script by Dawn McDaniel.
The "Mansour" biopic will trace Bahrami's journey from his childhood in 1950s Tehran to his eventual dream of playing at Roland Garros in Paris. After fleeing Iran, Bahrami faced homelessness and legal challenges in France before becoming a beloved tennis legend.
In addition to "Mansour," France TV Distribution is launching worldwide sales at Cannes for "Ducks," a film by Neary Adeline Hay. This intimate drama follows a Paris-based DJ of Cambodian origin who travels to Cambodia after her father's death.
"Ducks" stars Mellina Boubetra and Visal Sour, and explores themes of grief, heritage, and self-discovery as the protagonist cares for 300 ducks alongside her cousin. Both films are expected to resonate with international audiences.
