Summary
- Manish Malhotra and Karan Johar's friendly banter on Pitch To Get Rich
- Malhotra claims he works hard for Johar's films but doesn't get credited
- Johar jokes Malhotra is well-compensated for his work

The new fashion-focused reality show Pitch To Get Rich, streaming now on JioHotstar, has featured some entertaining moments between its panelists, including a playful exchange between filmmaker Karan Johar and fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
During one episode, Johar emphasized to a contestant that hard work alone is not enough to earn recognition. This prompted Malhotra to jokingly call out Johar for not crediting his own hard work on Dharma Productions films over the years. "Karan, you never gave me credit for that either, even though I work hard day and night especially for your films," Malhotra quipped.
Johar responded humorously, acknowledging Malhotra's high earnings and turnover from their collaborations. The exchange highlighted the deep, familial friendship the two have nurtured for over three decades, since first meeting on the set of the 1993 film Gumrah.
Despite their camaraderie, Malhotra admitted that working with the powerful Johar hasn't always been easy. "That's a difficult thing. For friends to work together for that many years, it's very rare. Because Karan is Karan Johar, and not a lot of people would be comfortable telling him if something doesn't work."
However, Malhotra also praised Johar's warmth, calling their bond "honest" and reflecting the strong relationship they've built over the decades.
