Netflix has officially picked up the canceled drama series Manifest for a fourth and final season, a move driven by overwhelming fan support. The announcement was made on '828 Day,' a date celebrated by fans of the show, highlighting the dedicated #SaveManifest campaign. This revival marks a rare instance of a broadcast series finding a new life on a streaming platform.

The final season will be a substantial 20 episodes, to be released in multiple parts. Warner Bros. Television, the lead studio, has been negotiating with the cast and writers to bring the show back. Stars like Josh Dallas and Melissa Roxburgh are reported to have closed deals for the concluding season, with others in negotiations. Original contracts had expired in June, but pay increases are expected for the actors involved in the #SaveManifest movement.

The series' success on Netflix, including topping streaming charts and logging billions of minutes viewed, was crucial in convincing both Netflix and Peacock (NBC's streaming service) to express interest. Netflix emerged as the frontrunner, securing global rights, a key factor that complicated earlier negotiations.

Creator Jeff Rake, who initially envisioned a six-season run, will now condense the story into four seasons. The 20-episode order is Manifest's largest to date, aiming to provide a satisfying conclusion to the mystery of Flight 828. Rake expressed gratitude to fans, Netflix, and Warner Bros. for enabling the story's proper end, stating, "You did this."
