The romance between Mallika Sherawat and Vijay Singh, which blossomed on The Bachelorette India in 2013, reportedly concluded under unusual circumstances. Following the show's finale, their relationship was said to be subject to a one-year contractual agreement.

Vijay Singh, who participated in the dating reality program, later disclosed details about this arrangement. He stated that the contract stipulated Sherawat could marry him within a year, but she had the option to withdraw after that period.

Singh further claimed that after the contract's expiration, Sherawat began to withdraw, citing reasons such as his perceived youth and the challenges of long-distance relationships. He eventually stopped pursuing her after she ceased taking his calls.

Reflecting on the experience, Singh expressed skepticism about the authenticity of such dating reality shows, suggesting they are partially scripted and contractually controlled. He has since married his childhood sweetheart and has a daughter.
