Maine Cabin Masters Tackle Spooky Inn Renovation

Chase and Sarah Morrill embarked on a significant renovation of the Rise and Shine Bed & Breakfast in Monmouth, Maine. The property, purchased for $750,000, required an $800,000 investment to transform it from its rundown, reportedly haunted state into a welcoming destination. This ambitious project was chronicled in the HGTV spinoff "Main Cabin Masters: All Inn."

The renovation encompassed clearing rooms, fixing electrical issues, and adding new lighting. Historical elements were preserved, though rot was discovered in the library chimney. The couple aimed to create themed rooms, move the entrance, establish a new lobby, and add an accessible room and bathroom. A waterside patio and a guest kitchen were also planned.

Further development includes converting a barn on the 12-acre property into an event venue suitable for weddings and parties. The team faced challenges, including repairing broken tiles around a fireplace and sourcing custom curtains made by local artisans. The project's deadline for a soft opening was Memorial Day weekend, with the team working to bring the historic building up to date.
