The film, which premiered in theatres on June 12, has accumulated a total India net collection of Rs 3 crore. This positive trajectory is attributed to favorable audience reception, with the film playing across 2,152 shows on Saturday.
'Main Vaapas Aaunga' recorded an overall occupancy of 24.04% nationwide. The occupancy rates showed a steady climb throughout the day, starting at 6.69% in the morning and peaking at 31% during the night shows.
Industry stalwarts have lauded the film. Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha praised its artistic integrity and soulful storytelling, calling it a powerful love story between the storyteller and the country. Actor-filmmaker Adivi Sesh described it as a modern classic reflecting Imtiaz Ali's themes of enduring relationships and the human yearning for love.
