Mahima Makwana: From Humble Beginnings to Netflix

Mahima Makwana, currently 26, is gaining attention for her role in the Netflix series Musafir Cafe, which premiered on July 24, 2026. Her personal journey is as compelling as her professional one, marked by significant achievements despite a challenging upbringing.

Born in Mumbai in 1999, Makwana lost her father at five months old. Her mother, who had aspired to be an actress, encouraged Mahima to pursue acting from a young age to support the family. Makwana vividly recalls her childhood spent in a chawl, facing societal judgment.

Her breakthrough came at 13 with Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke in 2012. This success allowed her to fulfill her mother's dream of owning a home, purchasing her first property and car by age 14.

Making a transition to films involved further struggles, including facing stereotypes about TV actors. A significant turning point was meeting Salman Khan, which led to an opportunity with Salman Khan Films for Antim. Makwana also made her Telugu film debut in 2017.
