Married At First Sight expert Mel Schilling has shared the devastating news that her colon cancer has spread to her brain. Doctors have informed her that there is nothing further they can do, leaving her unsure of how much time she has left.
This news has led to an outpouring of support from numerous former contestants of the reality dating show. Many shared emotional tributes, recalling Mel's kindness, wisdom, and the positive impact she had during their experiences on MAFS.
Schilling, 54, previously had a 5cm tumour removed in December 2023. In early 2024, further scans revealed the cancer had metastasised to her lungs. Over Christmas, she began experiencing severe headaches and numbness, leading to the discovery of the brain metastasis.
Despite undergoing 16 rounds of chemotherapy over the past two years while filming MAFS and being considered for a new clinical trial in March 2026, her condition has worsened. Mel expressed her determination to fight to her last breath, surrounded by the love of her family and supporters.
