Married At First Sight expert Mel Schilling has revealed a grave update regarding her ongoing battle with colon cancer. In a recent announcement, the 54-year-old Australian TV personality disclosed that her cancer has now spread to the left side of her brain. Despite undergoing radiotherapy sessions, her oncology team has informed her that there is nothing further they can do, a statement that has profoundly changed her outlook.
Leigh Harris, a star from Married At First Sight UK's tenth season, took to Instagram to express her sorrow and support for Schilling. Harris described Schilling as an inspirational and powerful woman, highlighting her radiant energy and admirable determination. She expressed gratitude for the time spent with Schilling and the wisdom she shared, encouraging others to embrace Schilling's spirit of living life fully and speaking out.
Mel Schilling was initially diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2023. While she had previously been given the all-clear in 2023, small nodules were discovered on her lungs during a routine scan in late February 2024, indicating metastasis. Over the past two years, she underwent 16 rounds of chemotherapy and was preparing for a clinical trial scheduled to begin in March 2026. However, she recently began experiencing severe headaches and numbness, leading to the latest grim prognosis.
