Mads Mikkelsen to Star as Stranded Astronaut in Sci-Fi Thriller 'Ami'

As of October 1st, 2025, several intriguing film projects are in the works. Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen has been cast to play a stranded astronaut in the upcoming sci-fi survival thriller 'Ami', with German actress Diane Kruger set to portray his AI companion. The film is currently in production in Spain.

In another development, actor Lou Diamond Phillips, who serves as Vice President of the Academy's Actors Branch, is directing and starring in the legal thriller 'The Ambulance Chaser'. The film is based on the novel by Brian Cuban, the brother of billionaire Mark Cuban. Set in Atlanta, 'The Ambulance Chaser' follows a successful but morally conflicted lawyer whose life unravels when human skeletal remains tied to his past resurface. The project is envisioned as the first installment in a trilogy, with financing still being finalized and a start date yet to be determined.

The creative team for 'The Ambulance Chaser' includes cinematographer Alan Caudillo and legendary production designer Wynn Thomas, who will receive an honorary Oscar this year. Executive producers on the film are Jeff Baker, David DeLugas, and Roshown McLeod.
