Mads Mikkelsen has been added to the cast of Martin Scorsese's next film, "What Happens at Night." He will star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who lead the project.
The film, a co-production between Apple Original Films and StudioCanal, is based on Peter Cameron's novel. DiCaprio and Lawrence play a couple traveling to a European hotel to adopt a child.
Mikkelsen is slated to play Brother Emmanuel, a faith healer. His character is encountered by Lawrence's character, who is dealing with a cancer diagnosis during their journey.
Patricia Clarkson is also joining the cast. Martin Scorsese is producing and directing, with Patrick Marber adapting the screenplay. This film marks another collaboration between Scorsese and Apple, following "Killers of the Flower Moon."
