Director Kunal Kemmu, who also wrote the first film, has penned the script for the follow-up, ensuring a seamless continuation of the story.
Pre-production for 'Madgaon Express 2' is actively in progress, with filming slated to commence in February or March 2027. Kemmu intends for the sequel to organically extend the friendship and misadventures of the three characters, rather than feeling like a forced narrative.
The original 'Madgaon Express' followed three friends on a dream trip to Goa that spiralled into a hilarious, chaotic ordeal involving gangsters and police. The film resonated well with audiences, grossing over Rs 30 crore at the Indian box office.
