Matthew Macfadyen has joined Rachel Weisz in the cast of Tomas Alfredson's adaptation of "Seance On A Wet Afternoon." The film, scripted by Jack Thorne, is currently in production.
The plot revolves around Myra, a self-proclaimed medium, who persuades her husband, Billy, to orchestrate the kidnapping of a wealthy family's son. Myra's intention is to then find the child, thereby validating her psychic claims.
However, as Myra's deeper motives surface, Billy realizes her scheme poses a significant threat to their lives. The film is a joint production between Element Pictures and Astral Projection.
Financed by Film4 and Fremantle, "Seance On A Wet Afternoon" has attracted a creative team including cinematographer Marcell Rév and production designer Jacqueline Abrahams.
