Welsh actor Luke Evans has revealed that appearing on Broadway was a long-held ambition, often referred to as a 'bucket list' item. He is preparing to make his debut in a revival of the celebrated cult classic musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Evans will take on the role of Dr Frank-N-Furter. This casting comes almost 30 years after a song from the 1973 musical was instrumental in launching his performing career when he was a teenager.
He told New York Theatre Guide that he selected a song from the musical to 'catch the attention' of talent agents at a showcase when he was around 17 or 18. Now 46, Evans has achieved significant fame in blockbusters like The Hobbit and Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and has also released two music albums.
