Actress Lucy Hale has announced the sudden passing of her father, Preston Hale, who died on July 17 at the age of 68. She shared the news on July 20 via Instagram, posting a series of nostalgic photos and videos celebrating his life. Hale remembered her father as "mind-numbingly funny, sensitive, and deeply kind," highlighting his pride in his farming career and his Southern roots.

Preston Hale was described as a "true Southern man with a genuine soul" who loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and farming. Hale expressed immense gratitude for his unconditional love and the deep soul bond they shared. She revealed that she and her sister, Maggie, were together in Los Angeles when they received the devastating news, a shared experience she found divinely orchestrated and comforting.

Her father, who was married to his wife Stacy for 18 years, was raised by his grandparents in rural Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, three stepdaughters, and nine grandchildren.
