Lucy Hale Clarifies PLL TikTok Controversy

Lucy Hale recently addressed backlash concerning a viral TikTok video featuring herself and former "Pretty Little Liars" co-star Ian Harding. The video, which recreated a moment between their characters Aria and Ezra, drew criticism from fans who felt it was glamorizing a relationship with a significant age gap and a teacher-student dynamic.

Hale took to Instagram Stories to explain her intentions. She acknowledged that the Aria and Ezra relationship was indeed problematic and has not aged well. However, she clarified that the TikTok was primarily a celebration of her long-standing friendship with Harding, with whom she has known for nearly two decades. She emphasized that the video was not meant to endorse any problematic aspects of the show's narrative.

While the clarification was posted, Hale mentioned she might delete the video due to the ongoing discussion. The clip was captured and shared by @popfaction for those who wished to view it.
