Sukumaran explained that the initial film 'Lucifer' was made without certainty of a sequel, but the vision for a completed trilogy solidified during the filming of 'L2: Empuraan'. He confirmed that writer Murali Gopy has already developed the story for 'L3'.
The team intentionally structured 'Empuraan' to lead directly into the final film. Sukumaran expressed excitement about Gopy's story for 'L3', noting that the creative team has a clear plan for its completion.
However, Prithviraj acknowledged that scheduling 'L3' presents a significant challenge due to his extensive commitments as both an actor and filmmaker. He is also involved in other projects like 'Varanasi' and 'Odiyan: The Age of Illusion'.
