FX's acclaimed noir series 'The Lowdown,' starring Ethan Hawke, is set to return for its second season on Wednesday, October 14. The new season will also be available internationally via Hulu and Disney+. The eight-episode installment expands its cast with the addition of Tommy Lee Jones and Betty Gilpin.
Created by Sterlin Harjo, the series follows citizen journalist Lee Raybon, a self-proclaimed Tulsa truth-seeker whose relentless pursuit of corruption often lands him in trouble. Season 2 picks up as Lee receives an award for his work, but his personal life quickly becomes complicated.
Betty Gilpin plays Ginger, a public defender who enlists Lee's help to investigate how a prison inmate managed to disappear from a state penitentiary. This mystery leads them into the heart of a conspiracy involving the wealthy elite. Adding to the drama, Lee's estranged father, played by Tommy Lee Jones, makes an unexpected appearance, creating further complications for Lee and his family.
