Summary
- Love & War boasts a massive ₹425 crore budget, impacting its box office goals.
- The film needs to gross at least ₹850 crore to be considered a hit.
- Production delays have significantly increased the film's investment.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious project, Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is set to be one of Bollywood's most expensive films with a budget of ₹425 crore. Production delays have substantially increased this investment, with an additional 50 days added to the original schedule, and several songs yet to be filmed.
To be declared a hit, the romantic drama is projected to need an astounding ₹850 crore at the Indian box office, doubling its substantial investment. This target places it in a rare category, as only one Bollywood film has historically crossed the ₹800 crore mark domestically.
Early reports indicate significant pre-release revenue, with Netflix acquiring OTT rights for ₹130 crore and music and satellite rights sold for approximately ₹80 crore. The film's release is anticipated for late 2026 or early 2027, following confirmed production delays.
Alia Bhatt has indicated two film releases in 2026, presumably including Love & War. Ranbir Kapoor has also confirmed the ongoing production delays for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, with an official release date still pending.
