Love Island's Newest Star Faces Backlash Over MAGA Photos

Mackenzie 'Kenzie' Annis is among the new cast members of Love Island USA Season 8, a dating series currently filming in Fiji. Annis, who is 24 years old, recently achieved a significant academic milestone by graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University in May 2026, just days before joining the show's cast. Prior to her reality television debut, she balanced her studies and work as a nanny.

Annis, who originally hails from Powder Springs, Georgia, also has a background as a competitive dancer, a skill she uses for stress relief. However, her appearance on the show has been accompanied by controversy. Old photographs showing her in what appeared to be 'Make America Great Again' merchandise began circulating online prior to the season premiere. Her family, including her brother Alden, has publicly addressed the issue, denying any support for the Trump administration and defending Mackenzie against what they termed false accusations stemming from a few images.
