Love Island USA boots contestant over racist slur video

Alannah Keyser, who joined "Love Island USA" Season 8 during the Casa Amor expansion, was removed from the show after racist comments made by her resurfaced. Videos and social media posts showing Keyser using racial slurs emerged after her appearance began. Peacock confirmed she would no longer be part of the current season.

While questions have arisen regarding the show's vetting procedures, it is understood that the concerning content was only made public after Keyser was cast. The video reportedly captured her singing along to a song containing a slur, and her posts used a variation of it.

Following the surfacing of these posts, viewers drew connections to Keyser's behavior during the introductory heart rate challenge, where she appeared to limit her physical interactions with the Black male contestants. This is not the first time a contestant has been removed from the show due to racist remarks. Previously, Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were removed in Season 7 for similar reasons, and Vasana Montgomery was removed before the Season 8 premiere after videos of her using a racial slur appeared.
