George Knight, a 28-year-old professional footballer, has exited the Love Island villa for private family matters. His departure was announced on Thursday, just days after he entered the show as a bombshell. Fellow contestants learned of his exit in Sunday's episode, with some expressing their fondness for him.

Knight himself confirmed his departure via an Instagram post, stating that family comes first and he would prefer not to disclose further details out of respect for them. He also thanked fans for their kind messages. His brief time on the show included an attempt to ask fellow contestant Robyn Langton to share a hideaway bed, which she declined.

Knight and Yasmin Hadlow had been given a secret mission to dump two other contestants within their first 24 hours on the island. Love Island, a reality dating show where contestants couple up to survive, airs on ITV2 and ITVX.
