The Love Hypothesis Movie Arrives September 23

The much-anticipated adaptation of Ali Hazelwood's novel, The Love Hypothesis, is officially coming to Prime Video on September 23. Starring Lili Reinhart as Olive Smith and Tom Bateman as Adam Carlsen, the film brings the popular romance to life.

Olive, a PhD candidate focused on cancer research, enters into a fake dating arrangement with the notoriously strict Professor Carlsen. This scheme begins as a ploy to help her best friend, Anh, date her crush, Jeremy.

However, Olive's impulsive kiss with Adam to make Jeremy jealous sparks a complicated fake relationship. The movie explores how their arrangement blurs the lines between pretense and reality, challenging Olive to consider if love is worth the risk.

Directed by Claire Scanlon and written by Sarah Rothschild, the film also boasts a supporting cast including Rachel Marsh, Nicholas Duvernay, Jaboukie Young-White, and Arty Froushan. This project is slated for a summer release as part of Prime Video's 2026 lineup of romance and book adaptations.
