Love Hypothesis: A Star Wars Fanfic Dream Come True

The film adaptation of Ali Hazelwood's novel, "The Love Hypothesis," features an unexpected connection to the Star Wars franchise. The popular book originally started as Star Wars fanfiction, focusing on the relationship between Rey and Kylo Ren.

This origin story resonates with the film's cast, particularly actor Tom Bateman, who plays Professor Adam Carlsen. Bateman's wife is actress Daisy Ridley, renowned for her role as Rey in several Star Wars films. Actress Lili Reinhart, who stars as Ph.D. candidate Olive and also serves as an executive producer, described the casting as "completely bizarre."

Reinhart emphasized the serendipitous nature of Bateman's casting, noting that he was precisely who they sought for the role. She believes that finding true selves in relationships, a theme in the movie, is key to finding love. "The Love Hypothesis" is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
