Historic Loughborough Bingo Hall Saved and Restored

The iconic art deco Beacon Bingo building in Loughborough, a cherished landmark, has been successfully converted into a church, securing its future. This transformation comes after decades of service as both a cinema since 1936 and later as a bingo hall until its closure in March 2021. The preservation of this significant structure ensures that a vital piece of the town's heritage is not lost.

Patrons fondly recall their experiences within the building, reminiscing about Saturday morning cinema shows and the vibrant social community fostered at Beacon Bingo. Unique art deco elements, such as golden arches flanking the stage and large gold-painted air vents, have been carefully maintained, alongside remnants of the original projector room, including "rewind: no smoking" signs.
