New 'Lord of the Flies' Series Trailer Drops

A new trailer has been unveiled for the "Lord of the Flies" series, a four-episode adaptation of William Golding's 1954 novel. Co-created by Jack Thorne, the series is set to premiere in the U.S. on May 4, following its earlier broadcast on BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and Stan in February. The adaptation stars young actors David McKenna, Winston Sawyers, Lox Pratt, Ike Talbut, and Thomas Connor.

Jack Thorne elaborated on the series' relevance, connecting it to a contemporary societal conversation about the struggles of young boys. He highlighted the impact of 'hate' as an answer to loneliness and isolation, suggesting the adaptation delves into the 'difficult and dangerous account of who we are and what we're capable of.' Director Marc Munden praised the young cast's immersive approach, noting they learned from each other's performances, fostering a higher collective standard.
