Long Wharf Theatre has unveiled its 2026-27 season, signaling a new chapter for the New Haven-based company. Though currently without an artistic director, former leader Jacob G. Padrón, now Creative Producer, has shaped this season and will direct one of its productions. The theater continues its mission of engaging with the community by staging shows in various college theater spaces and a regional theater in Branford.
The season kicks off with "The Ford/Hill Project" from September 19-27 at Quinnipiac University and Southern Connecticut State University. This powerful production draws from verbatim transcripts of Anita Hill and Christine Blasey Ford's testimonies concerning workplace harassment and sexual abuse.
Arthur Miller's classic "The Price" will be performed from November 5-22 at the Legacy Theatre in Branford. Notably, this production will be staged from the perspective of an Asian American family, offering a fresh interpretation of the 1967 drama about estranged brothers.
Jacob G. Padrón will direct Hillary Bettis' "72 Miles to Go..." from February 11-28 at SCSU's Kendall Drama Lab. The play explores a family's journey through the immigration system. The season also includes the return of "Black Trans Women at the Center" and the "Pass the Mic" series, highlighting Long Wharf's commitment to diverse voices.
