Summary
- 'The Long Walk' surpasses 'Doctor Sleep' in domestic box office earnings
- Film is one of the top 50 highest-grossing movies of the year
- Needs to beat 'Secret Window's $48.02 million to enter top 10 King adaptations

The dystopian thriller 'The Long Walk,' based on a Stephen King novel, has achieved a significant milestone at the domestic box office. As of October 8th, 2025, the film has surpassed another recent King adaptation, 'Doctor Sleep,' in total earnings.
'The Long Walk,' directed by Francis Lawrence, has collected $32.17 million in 25 days at the North American box office. This puts it ahead of 'Doctor Sleep,' which managed $31.58 million during its run. 'The Long Walk' is now the 16th highest-grossing Stephen King adaptation domestically, according to Box Office Mojo data.
While the film has received positive reviews, it has not performed as strongly as some other horror offerings this year. The Conjuring: Last Rites, a franchise film with an established fan base, has drawn more attention. 'The Long Walk' is, however, one of the top 50 highest-grossing movies of 2025 so far.
To enter the top 10 highest-grossing Stephen King adaptations at the domestic box office, 'The Long Walk' must surpass the $48.02 million earned by 'Secret Window.' The film has also collected $13.26 million internationally, bringing its worldwide gross to $45.4 million.
