British pop singer Lola Young made a notable debut, launching Apple Music's new Music Room performance series. This series provides artists a platform to reinterpret their music in a more intimate environment. Young's inaugural performance, featuring her song "Can We Ignore It :(," was captured in Apple Music's Los Angeles studios for a select audience.
Her rendition showcased a potent vocal delivery, amplified by the stripped-back acoustics of the room. Young also reworked several other songs from her 2025 album, "I'm Only F-king Myself," including "d£aler," "Penny Out of Nothing," and "One Thing." The complete performance video was set to premiere on Apple Music and YouTube on May 19, 2026.
Fans can later access recordings from the event on an exclusive EP titled "Music Room: Lola Young EP," available only on Apple Music. According to Rachel Newman, co-head of Apple Music, the Music Room series aims to deepen the connection between artists and their listeners, offering a pure and magical live music experience without elaborate staging.
Further installments of the Music Room series, featuring other artists, are planned for release in the upcoming months. The series emphasizes the raw essence of music and the stories behind the songs.
