20 Mar
Summary
- Lizzo announced a new song releasing soon.
- The song was previewed on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
- A previous album idea was scrapped due to singles' performance.

Lizzo has announced that her unreleased track "Don't Make Me Love U" will be officially released this Friday, March 21, 2026. The star shared the news via a social media video featuring herself and a doppelgänger, with the upcoming song playing in the background. This anticipated release comes after Lizzo performed a few bars of the song a cappella during a February appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Her most recent musical drop was the single "Freak Show" in October 2025, preceding her June 2025 mixtape, My Face Hurts From Smiling, which included collaborations with SZA and Doja Cat.
Originally, Lizzo had planned to release an album titled Love in Real Life. However, she changed course after the singles "Still Bad" and "Love in Real Life" did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Lizzo explained in a September 2025 interview that she felt she had changed significantly by 2025, as had the world, and the shelved album no longer reflected her current feelings. She decided to follow her instincts and approach her music differently. The artist also recently concluded mini residencies at jazz clubs in Los Angeles and New York City and is set to release a children's book, Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin'.
