Lizzie Borden Murders Revisited in Netflix's Monster Anthology

As of October 9th, 2025, the fourth season of the Emmy-winning Netflix series "Monster" is currently in production in Los Angeles. This latest installment of the true-crime anthology will focus on the infamous Lizzie Borden, who was famously tried and acquitted of the 1892 axe murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Ella Beatty has been cast in the lead role of Lizzie Borden, with an ensemble supporting cast that includes Charlie Hunnam as Andrew Borden, Vicky Krieps as Bridget Sullivan, Rebecca Hall as Abby Borden, Billie Lourd as Emma Borden, and Jessica Barden as Nance O'Neill. The first episode will be directed by Max Winkler, who has previously worked on the series.

The third season of "Monster," which centered on the crimes of Ed Gein, has recently been released on Netflix and has quickly become a hit, garnering 12.2 million views globally in its first three days. The series has sparked conversations around its portrayal of notorious killers and their victims.
