Liza Minnelli has unveiled her first new music in years, "Kids Wait Until You Hear This," a track produced in collaboration with generative AI company ElevenLabs. The 79-year-old icon lent her unmistakable vocals to the song, while the accompanying music arrangement was created entirely by AI using text prompts. This project marks ElevenLabs' first foray into music releases, featuring other artists like Art Garfunkel and Iamsu!.

ElevenLabs previously established a relationship with Minnelli by recreating the voice of her mother, Judy Garland. This prior success reportedly built trust, paving the way for the new musical venture. Minnelli stated the AI tools allowed her to express herself with new methods. The company views AI music as a significant growth area, with a recent survey indicating high engagement among young listeners.

Minnelli has also contributed her voice to ElevenLabs' Iconic Voice Marketplace. The AI company, reportedly seeking significant investment, aims to partner with stars who resonate within the "zeitgeist of collective memory."
