Kudrow's Son Stars in 'The Comeback' Season 3

Julian Stern, the son of actress Lisa Kudrow, has made a guest appearance in the third season of the HBO mockumentary series 'The Comeback.' Stern portrays Evan, an AI trainer, in the episode titled 'Valerie Does It All.' He described the experience as a "genuine dream come true" but admitted to initial nerves about working professionally with his mother.

Stern explained that transitioning between seeing Kudrow as his mother and as her character, Valerie Cherish, was manageable due to Kudrow's acting prowess. His character, Evan, is presented as a beacon of hope in the narrative, especially concerning the increasing presence of artificial intelligence in Hollywood. Stern views AI as a tool that requires human management rather than a complete replacement for workers.

Reflecting on the industry's history of adapting to new technologies like reality TV and the internet, Stern believes AI will similarly integrate into filmmaking and television. He suggests that while audiences may shift, human creativity and roles in the industry will persist, albeit in evolving capacities. Stern also spoke about his character's timid and awkward portrayal, which he found naturally aligned with his own personality.
