Global K-pop star Lalisa Manobal, known as Lisa, is embroiled in a controversy regarding her latest music video, 'SaWaDika.' A London-based Syrian artist and designer named Zeina has alleged that Lisa's creative team copied her original 'coined headphone' design. Zeina claims this unique headpiece, which draws inspiration from her Arab heritage, was replicated in the music video without proper attribution.
Zeina took to social media to express her concerns, highlighting that her creative work and cultural background were linked to the design. The artist emphasized that while others may imitate or copy, originality and proper credit are crucial, especially when cultural elements are involved. She stated her intention was not to attack Lisa but to ensure recognition for her original creation.
Following the widespread attention on social media, Lisa's team responded to the allegations. They stated that visual artist Hathairat NAN NIST Permpoon had been contacted and that Zeina was indeed credited for the inspiration sketches related to the coined headphone concept. Zeina later clarified that her aim was solely to receive credit for her work and that she did not intend to bash Lisa or her creative team.
