Lionsgate has acquired worldwide distribution rights for the psychological horror film 'A Head Full of Ghosts' ahead of the European Film Market. David Harbour, Rebecca Hall, and Esmé Creed-Miles are in final negotiations to join the cast. The film is slated for production beginning in March.
Based on Paul Tremblay's celebrated 2015 novel, the story centers on the Barrett family. Their suburban existence implodes when their teenage daughter's struggles with madness are broadcast on reality television. Years later, her sister Merry revisits the family's traumatic past with a journalist.
Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, the directors behind the cult horror hit 'Goodnight Mommy,' will helm the English-language adaptation. They previously directed 'The Lodge.' Producers include Team Downey, Fifth Season, and The Allegiance Theater.
