Smokey Robinson: Lionel Richie's Heart Procedure Routine

Smokey Robinson recently provided a positive health update on his close friend, Lionel Richie. Richie was hospitalized and received treatment for an irregular heartbeat.

Robinson described the procedure, an AFib ablation, as normal and routine, adding that he himself has undergone the same operation. He expressed that there is no cause for concern regarding Richie's current condition.

While Robinson could not confirm Richie's status on "American Idol," he believes the show would not permanently replace him as a judge. Richie's health issues had previously led Earth, Wind & Fire to cancel multiple concert dates last month.
