Linkin Park Dazzles at Download 2026 Fest

Download Festival 2026 kicked off in Donington Park, Leicestershire, with an eclectic lineup. Cypress Hill opened the main stage, followed by a powerful performance from Limp Bizkit, whose frontman Fred Durst showed undiminished energy.

Linkin Park, now fronted by Emily Armstrong, delivered a historic headline set on Sunday night. Armstrong's performance breathed new life into classics like "Numb" and "Papercut," harmonizing effectively with Mike Shinoda on "Overflow."

The festival also featured The Wildhearts as a last-minute addition, celebrating life following Ginger Wildheart's cancer diagnosis. Babymetal captivated the audience with their unique blend of choreography and infectious energy.

Guns N' Roses delivered a memorable headline set on Saturday, showcasing Slash's guitar prowess, though the middle section of their performance saw a dip in momentum.

Dogstar, with bassist Keanu Reeves, played on the second stage, offering a more mainstream alternative rock sound that, while perhaps out of place, aimed to boost the scene's profile.

This year's Download also highlighted advancements in attendee care, including improved drainage compared to past "Drownload" years and the introduction of sensory calm spaces offering mental health support.
