NBC has taken a step toward extending its first-year drama, Line of Fire, by ordering five additional scripts. This move follows the series' solid ratings performance in its initial three episodes.

Line of Fire has considerably improved its 10 p.m. Monday time slot. Compared to the previous season's performance in the same slot, the series shows a 34 percent increase in same-day viewers and a 47 percent increase over three days of cross-platform viewing. This success may lead to an order of up to 18 episodes for its first season, which initially ordered 13.
Produced by Universal Television, Line of Fire stars Peter Krause, Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O'Brien, Taylor Bloom, and Charlie Barnett. Joshua Safran serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector.
