Arnott Confirms: Line of Duty Series 7 is Go!

The beloved BBC police drama, Line of Duty, is officially set to return for a seventh series, much to the excitement of its dedicated fanbase. Actor Martin Compston, who portrays DI Steve Arnott, has revealed that the scripts for the new season have been finalized and enthusiastically approved, describing them as "fantastic" and a "proper page-turner." This confirmation follows a significant hiatus after the conclusion of series six in 2021.

All three lead stars—Martin Compston, Vicky McClure as Kate Flemming, and Adrian Dunbar as Ted Hastings—are confirmed to reprise their iconic roles. The new six-part series will see the AC-12 trio tackle corruption within the police force, potentially featuring new challenges and characters. Filming is anticipated to commence in Spring 2026, with the show expected to air in 2026.

Compston expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the role, calling it a "job of a lifetime" and highlighting the close relationships formed with his co-stars.
