Time-Traveling Librarian Fights Evil

The family fantasy series, The Librarians: The Next Chapter, embarks on its second season of magical adventures. This season continues to follow an eclectic group of scholars tasked with safeguarding mythological artifacts from a castle in Belgrade.

Leading the team is Vikram, a librarian originally from 1847, who was transported to the present day. He is joined by Lysa, Connor, and Charlie as they battle supernatural forces. This season also introduces recurring roles for Christian Kane and Dominic Monaghan.

Callum McGowan, who portrays Vikram, discussed the character's ongoing struggle to accept his new reality and his inherent desire to return to his original time. Vikram is learning to work as part of a team, overcoming his ego, and developing his relationship with Lysa, who is revealed to be his descendant.

The new season will delve into the characters' greatest fears, with the arrival of Monaghan's wizard character, Merlin. As the Librarians spend more time together, they develop trust and affection for one another.

McGowan also shared that the cast developed a close bond, akin to a found family, while filming in Serbia. They found themselves reuniting as a family for the second season, living in close proximity and developing mutual respect and love, which he believes translates onto the screen.
