In a highly anticipated move, the beloved 'Naked Gun' comedy franchise is set to return to the screen on Paramount+ on September 30th, 2025. The new film, which serves as a late sequel to the original 'Police Squad!'-inspired series from the 1980s and 90s, introduces Liam Neeson as the hilarious Detective Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the lead character from the previous installments.
Neeson's serious demeanor juxtaposed with the playful density and bizarre escapades of his crime-fighting character promises to deliver the same uproarious comedy that made the original 'Naked Gun' films such a hit. The film was developed at Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door Productions and directed by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island.
Joining Neeson in the cast are a talented ensemble, including Pamela Andresen, Danny Huston, Kevin Durand, CCH Pounder, Liza Koshy, and Paul Walter Hauser, who plays Captain Ed Hocken Jr., Drebin's partner. The film also features cameo appearances from Dave Bautista, Busta Rhymes, Cody Rhodes, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and Priscilla Presley, the only two actors returning from the original 'Naked Gun' movies.
