Actress Lesley-Anne Down, acclaimed for her roles in "North and South" and "The Bold and the Beautiful," has shared harrowing accounts of near-death experiences. She believes she has already lived through three of her nine lives due to close calls with peril.
During her childhood in England, Down's family was deeply disturbed when she was mistakenly identified as Leslie Ann Downey, one of the victims of the infamous Moors murders. This occurred around the time Ian Brady and Myra Hindley were active in the mid-1960s.
Years later, when Down was just 10, she narrowly avoided abduction when a man attempted to lure her into his car by offering a babysitting job. At 18, she experienced another terrifying incident when she entered what she believed was a taxi, only to realize the driver was dangerous and jumped from the moving vehicle.
Down, who also stars opposite Dennis Quaid in "Reagan," advises women in Hollywood to "never go anywhere alone." She made a conscious decision to step away from the industry around 2012 to pursue a different life, eventually relocating from California to Georgia.
