Actor Leo Woodall has officially joined the highly anticipated continuation of The Lord of the Rings saga, expressing that the role fulfills a lifelong dream. Woodall is set to play Halvard, a newly created Dúnedain character, in the film titled The Hunt for Gollum. This exciting addition was announced by Warner Bros. alongside Jamie Dornan, who will portray Strider.
The narrative of The Hunt for Gollum is strategically positioned between the events of The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. It will chronicle Aragorn's challenging mission to apprehend Gollum before he can disclose the Ring's whereabouts to Sauron. The production is set to bring back key talent from the previous trilogies.
Oscar-winning producers Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens are returning to oversee the creation of two new films. Walsh and Boyens are also penning the screenplay with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou. Director Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Gollum, with Elijah Wood as Frodo and Ian McKellen as Gandalf also returning.
