Lemonheads Frontman Recalls Wild LSD Adventure with Johnny Depp

According to Evan Dando's new memoir "Rumors of My Demise," the Lemonheads bandleader and actor Johnny Depp, 62, had a wild experience together involving LSD. Dando, 58, claims that he and Depp dropped acid and decided to go on an "adventure," which included visiting Dando's record label, Atlantic Records.
The pair reportedly climbed out onto the scaffolding covering the top two floors of the building, waving and laughing at the employees inside. As the acid kicked in, Dando says they started racing around the building, with people inside likely fearing the worst. At one point, they went back inside to smoke cigarettes in the office of Depp's A&R representative, who was "pretty freaked out."
Depp initially became a fan of the Lemonheads while dating Winona Ryder, as she had made him a tape of the band's songs. The two later became friends, with Dando even living with Depp in Los Angeles for a few months. Dando describes Depp as an "extra-fun friend" who never acted like a big star.
